The island of Thassos is in northern Greece, facing the shores of Eastern Macedonia.
It lies 18 nautical miles from the city of Kavala and only 6 miles from Keramoti and the airport of Kavala.
The island is densely vegetated with olive trees, pines, planes, firs, ashes, cedars, bunchberries and other cultivated and wild trees covering its small plains and reaching up to the peaks of the mountains.
Activities you can enjoy in Thassos include water skiing, fishing, hiking, mountain climbing, hunting and bird watching.
Part of the island has been designated as an area of special importance for wild birds and it is one of the first regions in Greece to be monitored by volunteers of environmental organizations.
